A position has become available our Safari Camp in Kafue National Park for the right person to assist in the management and day to day running of this busy and successful Camp.
The Role
Primarily the taks will focus around all areas of customer experience and overall safari camp management. including (but not Limited to)
– Checking guest accommodation prior to guest arrival. Ensure everything is ready for the guests. Plan daily and weekly schedules for the team on site
– Reporting and following up on maintenance issues
– Meeting the guests and hosting them while they are in camp.
– Making sure guests have been offered appropriate activities, then planning and coordinating those activities for smooth delivery and guest experience. liaising with the Chef to ensure clients are well catered for. In Camp stock management of monthly essentials.
– Ensure proper procedures are being followed by departments and offer advice and training where necessary. Manage and train the team onsite.
– Assist with planning of guest movements in and out of camp, working closely with reservations and the Operations and Commercial managers
– Continually be aware of improvements and adjustments that are needed in the running and operations of the camp
– Provide weekly and monthly reports as requested.
– Attend management meetings called by Directors and report any issues and ideas, some of which may have come from management meetings
Strict adherence to Health and Safety protocols at all times.
This role would suit someone with qualifications and experience in the hospitality industry. Preferably with experience in the photographic safari industry. You must be committed to hard work, enjoy being in the bush, be willing to get involved in all kinds of tasks around camp Also vital is to be a people person with proven management skills and most importantly a passion for tourism and wildlife.
Minimum requirements
Experience in Safari camp or Lodge operations and supervision
Full driving licence for minimum of 5 years
Computer Literate
Added extras
Experience in the hospitality industry at management level
Additional Safari Guide Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Tourism and Hospitality.
