Senior Manager – IR (x 1)
Reports to: Head-HIR
Kagem is seeking remarkable candidates to join the team, in the position of Senior Manager – IR
Job Purpose: Management of all IR stters such as fair handling of all disciplinary matters in order to accord employees fair judgement and handling of Management and Unions relationsup to ensure industrial relatious harmony on the Mine site.
Key Result Areas & Accountabilities
- Providing put towards development of HR Strategies. Policies & Procedures
- Provision of industrial relations advice and guidance to line managers and maintain constant liaison with the union officials on issues affecting employees
- Monitors IR annosphere and give prompt advise to management.
- Promote effective communication at all levels between the company and its stakeholders to ensure effective industrial relations
- Handle disciplinary & grievance processes.
- Liason with National & Branch uns on matters affecting workforce
- Participating in the Collective bargaining processes
- Assisting matters before the courts
- Ensure that staff welfare policies are well implemented in compliance to the company.
- Administration of employee welfare activities
- Coordinate sports and recreation facilities including Lake House
- Administration of staff beachts such as GLA/GPA, medical schemes, fiend grants, Pensions & terminal dues etc
Professional Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 certificate
- Degree in a social science or related discipline
- 5 years’ work experience in a similar position
- Paid up member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resouces Management
- Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZQA) certificate of verification and evaluation of qualification will be required before the job offer
Skills, Knowledge & Characteristics
- Excellent analytical and evabetion skills
- Good command of both oral and wotton comamaication
- Possession of good leadership skills
- Ability to work with minum supervision
- Knowledge of mining software
- Excellent knowledge of the current mining regulations
- Good computer skills
- Practical knowledge in HR sofwate
- Excellent knowledge of the current Zambian labour laws
Working Environment/Conditions:

Facilitates the recruitment process of expatriate employees and participates in job interviews for local jobs. Administers all immigration formalities to ensure that all legal requirements for expatriates are fulfilled Ensures that all leave applications for expatriates are processed and maintains up-to-date records of leave balances Ensures that all professional membership for eligible staff are timely processed according to the respective professional board requirements Ensure that all executive correspondences are well administered and that they are directed to the right officials Ensure the effective and timely provision of secretarial services to senior management and administers the company email ID Administers travel passage entitlements for expatriate employees as per their terms and conditions as well as arranging for timely travel bookings, hotel reservations and airport transfers for expatriates, visitors and other officials. Ensures that visitors and senior managers are housed in clean and hygiene environments with all required facilities in place Supervises all housekeeping and guest house staff to ensure that they are efficient and presentable all the time
Good computer skills Good command of both oral and written communication Possession of good leadership skills Ability to work with minimum supervision Excellent public relations and interpersonal skills
Grade 12 certificate Diploma/Degree in Management Studies/Business administration/Social sciences or any other related field 6 years’ work experience in a similar position Experience in providing secretarial services to executives an added advantage Good experience in networking with stakeholders Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZQA) certificate of verification and evaluation of qualification will be required before the job offer
