JOB DETAILS:

 Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop software applications according to the needs of the institution;
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new ICT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance business processes of the institution;
• Periodically analyse the integrity of the corporate databases;
• Investigate and resolve application functionality related issues and provide secondary level support and troubleshooting of the institution systems which include Financial and Payroll, Library system, Legislative system, and Administrative, and all other sub-systems under the electronic parliament system;
• Create system designs and functional specifications for all new development projects;
• Provide database administration services in live and test environments;
• Produce technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guides are produced in good time;
• To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job in the ICT environment; and
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate;
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or any other related field;
• Two (2) years work experience; and
• Must be a member of the Information and Communications Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) with a valid practising license.

Key Attributes and Skills

• Background in Object Oriented Programming Languages such as Java, Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, PHP, etc;
• Extensive knowledge of Microservice Orchestration using services such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc;
• Knowledge of database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Mongo Database, etc; and
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix based systems administration.

Experience in Months: 12

Level of Education: bachelor degree
