Job Purpose

We are seeking a high-performing Animal Feed Sales Manager to drive sales growth, market expansion, and customer relationship excellence for our FVG animal feed range. The successful candidate will develop and execute strategic sales plans to increase market share across poultry, cattle, and pig feed segments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Growth: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve volume and revenue targets.
  • Business Development: Identify and secure new business opportunities with large-scale farms, distributors, and institutional clients.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term partnerships with key accounts to ensure retention and satisfaction.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor trends, competitor pricing, and industry activities to keep our products competitive.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to exceed individual and collective targets.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with production and logistics to ensure seamless product availability and delivery.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert guidance to customers on feed usage, animal performance, and best practices.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage sales forecasts, budgets, and ensure timely collection of receivables (credit control).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, or a related field (An MBA will be an added advantage).
  • Experience: 5–10 years in animal feed sales or agribusiness, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of livestock nutrition and the Zambian feed market.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proven negotiation and high-level sales closing abilities.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a field-based team.
  • Strategic thinker with strong market analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel extensively within assigned regions.
