Community-based health systems are central to primary healthcare delivery in Zambia. However, community-level health data collection remains largely paper-based, resulting in delays, data gaps, and limited use of information for timely decision-making. While national health information systems such as DHIS2 and SmartCare are well established at facility level, the absence of a harmonized electronic system at community level continues to constrain effective reporting and integration.
Against this background, Family Development Initiatives (FDI), in partnership with the Ministry of Health, invites qualified and experienced firms to submit proposals for the design, development, and deployment of the Electronic Community Health Information System (eCHIS).
The eCHIS initiative seeks to strengthen community-level health information management by improving data collection, reporting, system integration, and use across community health programmes. The solution is expected to build on existing digital platforms and align with national digital health systems, standards, and governance frameworks.
The selected firm will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the eCHIS solution, including:
