Background
CHINA COPPER MINES LIMITED (CCM) was established in 2010 as a large-scale mining group established by private owning groups in the Republic of Zambia, known as the “country of copper mines”. The company’s business scope covers resource exploration, mining, hydrometallurgy, sulfuric acid chemical industry, trading and mining investment. In recent years, CCM had sprung up in the mining industry in Zambia with outstanding performance; in particular, the “low-grade, complex and difficult ore-treating process” is a leading technology with great technical and economic advantages. Responsibilities
- Direct and guide haul truck drivers during dumping operations at waste dumps, ore stockpiles, and crusher areas.
- Ensure trucks are correctly aligned to minimize spillage and maintain dump area safety.
- Communicate clearly with truck operators using hand signals, radios, or visual aids to coordinate dumping.
- Monitor dump site conditions and report any hazards (e.g. unstable edges, excessive dust, poor visibility) to supervisors.
- Maintain a safe distance between equipment and personnel to prevent accidents.
- Assist in enforcing traffic control protocols and dump area rules.
- Ensure dump areas are tidy and free of obstructions for efficient operation.
- Report incidents or near-misses and participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Assist with basic site housekeeping and safety barricading around dump points.
- Adhere to all site safety standards, including proper use of PPE and hazard reporting.
- Follow correct instructions from the respective PIC and laid down procedure.
- Perform any other duties to be assigned by the PIC.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience
- Prior experience in surface mining or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong situational awareness and attention to safety protocols.
- Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather and dusty conditions.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Physically fit and able to stand or walk for extended periods.
- No criminal record
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Grade 12 certificate.
- Curriculum vitae.
- Valid silicosis
