Job Summary
Sustainable Ecosolutions Limited is seeking a qualified and motivated intern Environmental Officer to support the delivery of environmental consultancy services. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental assessments, undertaking field research and monitoring activities, preparing technical reports, supporting environmental compliance processes, and assisting clients in meeting regulatory requirements in line with ZEMA guidelines and other applicable environmental standards. The role requires strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills, as well as a commitment to environmental sustainability and professional excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental field assessments, audits, and monitoring activities.
- Prepare environmental reports, including project briefs, environmental assessments, and compliance reports.
- Support clients in obtaining environmental approvals and permits.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Environmental Management Plans (EMPs).
- Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Stay informed on current environmental legislation, policies, and best practices.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources Management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of ZEMA regulations and environmental management practices.
- Strong report-writing, research, and data analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Valid driver's license will be an added advantage.
