Zamfluorspar limited is one of the leading mining company in Zambia with its core activities in the mining and exploration of fluorite minerals.

The company was incorporated on the 10th of February 2015. The Fluorspar (calcium fluoride) produced in Zambia by Zamfluorspar, is largely exported to major industrial markets for use in steel, aluminum, and chemical industries. Key destination countries include the Netherlands, Italy, the United States, China, India, and regional partners like Lesotho.The mining operations are done in the southern part of Zambia in Siavonga Sianyolo Area.

The Company is now Recruiting for the following position EXCAVATOR OPERATOR.

The Company is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill this vacancy.

The Ideal and prospective Excavator operator should be the one who can safely operate large hydraulic machinery to excavate, trench, grade, and move materials on construction or mining sites. Key responsibilities include conducting pre-operation safety checks, interpreting site plans, performing routine maintenance, and coordinating with ground crews to ensure precise and efficient project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Efficiently operate heavy excavators to dig trenches, break ground, load materials, and clear sites.
• Site Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols, maintaining awareness of surroundings, underground utilities, and overhead lines.
• Maintenance & Inspection: Perform daily inspections, including checking fluid levels, greasing joints, and reporting mechanical malfunctions.
• Precision Excavation: Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes to achieve accurate depths and slopes.
• Attachments Management: Utilize various attachments such as buckets, hydraulic hammers, and thumbs for specific tasks.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with crew members using hand signals or radio communication to ensure efficient workflow.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience operating heavy duty hydraulic excavators.
• Strong understanding of construction site safety regulations.
• Ability to read blueprints and site technical documentation.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for routine equipment maintenance.
• High level of concentration, depth perception, and physical stamina.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to operate equipment for extended periods in various weather conditions.
• Capable of climbing onto machines and conducting physical inspections.
• Valid Operator Certification/ License.
• Grade 12 Certificate.
