Our Client is seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Front Desk Operator to manage their workshop reception area. The ideal candidate will be the face of our garage, providing exceptional customer service, coordinating bookings, and handling administrative tasks, including invoicing and payment processing, to ensure a smooth operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Greeting: Welcoming customers, in-person and on the phone, determining the nature of their visit, and providing a positive first impression.
- Booking and Scheduling: Managing the workshop diary, booking customer appointments for services and repairs.
- Customer Communication: Keeping customers informed about their vehicle status, explaining repairs, and updating them on any delays.
- Administrative Duties: Filing and maintaining service records, processing invoices, and assisting with general office tasks.
- Financial Transactions: Computing and recording transaction totals, taking payments (cash, credit card), and balancing the cash drawer at the end of the shift.
- Workshop Support: Coordinating between customers and technicians/mechanics, and communicating with suppliers for parts pricing.
- Environment Maintenance: Keeping the reception area and waiting room clean, tidy, and safe.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in a customer-facing role is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact clearly with customers and staff.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in computer skills and the ability to learn booking/service software.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly with invoicing and scheduling.
- Multitasking Ability: Capable of staying calm and managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, busy environment.
- Automotive Knowledge: Familiarity with the automotive industry is helpful, but not always essential.
- Valid Driver's License: A plus for moving customer cars, if required.
