Background

The Rural Electrification Authority (REA) is a statutory body established under REA Act No. 5 of 2023. Its mandate is to increase access to electricity in rural areas of Zambia, thereby enhancing productivity, stimulating economic growth, and improving the quality of life for the rural population. REA is expanding and seeking talented individuals for the following roles:

Responsibilities

• Undertakes effectively the conduct of surveys and the capturing of geomatic data in order to facilitate the production of spatial diagrams and maps.
• Undertakes effectively the conduct of Drone Photography in order to facilitate the production of spatial diagrams and maps.
• Undertakes effectively the production of spatial diagrams and maps in order to facilitate the planning of the rural electrification projects.
• Undertakes effectively the establishment of beacons and other markers in order to facilitate the demarcation of land related to the rural electrification projects.
• Undertakes effectively the implementation and maintenance of regional Grid development quality management systems in order to ensure compliance to set standards.
• Undertakes effectively the preparation and updating of the regional risk register in order to ensure effective management of risk.

Qualifications Required

• Grade 12
• Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia
• Bachelors Degree in Geomatics Engineering or its equivalent
• Member of surveyors institute of Zambia
• Validation Certificate from Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA)
