This role is to assist the field Geologist in all exploration, logistic and administration matters related to field and camp management.

Responsibilities or duties

To conduct GPS survey & handling of GPS equipment.

To set up and supervise trenching and pitting.

To conduct sampling in accordance to the plan and instructions provided by the field Geologist.

To carry out sample tagging and bagging.

To carry out sample handling and transportation.

To carry out activities of general exploration as planed and requested by the field Geologist.

Data entry on day to day basis for field work related to exploration.

To assist the field Geologist in all drilling services with respect to core cutting, core washing, core logging, core marking, core crushing, core sampling, QAQC & any other field related jobs during drilling.

Supervision of QAQC in sampling related to exploration activities.

Any other exploration-related activity or assisting in camp management.

Safety management involves identifying and managing potential risks associated with exploration & mining activities and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Assisting the field geologist in day-to-day tasks as per the responsibility assigned.

Liaison and supervision of contractors related to geophysics, drilling, laboratories and associated exploration activities.

Assist in supervision of gold processing plant work related to geological and mineralogical aspects.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Diploma/Degree from a recognized university in Zambia

Experience needed

2-5 years

Remuneration will be based on the candidate’s experience and competency as per requirements in the JD.
