Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of HOWO Sinotruk 371NX trucks and 30-ton semi-trailers. The ideal candidate must possess strong technical knowledge of heavy-duty diesel engines, driveline systems, trailer components, and preventive maintenance procedures.

The mechanic must be capable of diagnosing faults quickly, carrying out repairs efficiently, and ensuring that all vehicles remain in optimal operating condition to support fleet reliability and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Maintenance and Servicing

  • Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance on HOWO Sinotruk 371NX trucks and 30-ton semi-trailers.
  • Conduct oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, brake adjustments, and component inspections.
  • Ensure all scheduled maintenance is carried out according to manufacturer specifications.

Diagnostics and Repairs

  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic faults in trucks and trailers.
  • Repair or replace faulty components including engines, gearboxes, suspensions, braking systems, axles, and steering mechanisms.
  • Troubleshoot and repair trailer systems including landing gear, air brake systems, suspension, and coupling systems.

Inspection and Safety Compliance

  • Conduct thorough pre-service and post-repair inspections.
  • Ensure all vehicles meet safety and roadworthiness standards.
  • Identify potential mechanical issues early and recommend corrective actions.

Breakdown Response

  • Provide prompt mechanical support during vehicle breakdowns when required.
  • Carry out emergency repairs to minimize fleet downtime.

Workshop Operations

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
  • Properly use and maintain workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and machinery.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service activities.

Continuous Learning and Improvement

  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and quick learning ability in adapting to new repair techniques or technologies.
  • Stay updated with manufacturer repair procedures and industry best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Craft Certificate in Heavy Duty Mechanics / Automotive Mechanics or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience servicing and repairing heavy duty trucks and semi-trailers.
  • Demonstrated experience working on HOWO Sinotruk trucks, preferably the 371NX model.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and heavy-duty truck mechanics.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.
  • High level of expertise in repair and maintenance procedures for trucks and trailers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight repair timelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to quickly learn new mechanical systems and repair methods.

Work Requirements

  • Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends or emergency repairs when necessary.
