About Kariba Minerals Limited and the ICT Officer Role
As part of the Finance Team, the ICT Officer will deliver expert technical support and manage IT infrastructure installation and maintenance in line with company policies and standards. The successful candidate will play a critical role in minimizing system downtime by promptly resolving infrastructure-related issues, thereby ensuring seamless business continuity.
Key Responsibilities for ICT Officer Jobs in Lusaka
- ICT Systems Management: Install, support, and maintain ICT infrastructure including desktops, servers, laptops, WAN/LAN, printers, mobile devices, access control systems, and CCTV.
- System Monitoring: Conduct daily monitoring to ensure continuous operation of hardware, servers, and voice/data systems.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of hardware and software assets.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and peripheral device issues promptly.
- Security Compliance: Collaborate with ICT leadership to perform infrastructure security checks and maintain robust controls.
- User Support: Provide first and second-level technical assistance, maintaining support logs and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Data Protection: Manage backups, verify restore capabilities, and uphold data integrity and confidentiality.
- Asset and Budget Administration: Oversee ICT equipment registers, software licenses, and budget management for CAPEX and OPEX.
- Procurement Support: Research and recommend software and services, supporting procurement decisions through feasibility studies.
- Digitisation Initiatives: Recommend system improvements to enhance uptime and efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 Certificate is required.
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, ICT, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA, or Microsoft Server/Network certifications are advantageous.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
- Minimum of two years’ experience providing ICT support, preferably within mining, manufacturing, or remote site environments.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on troubleshooting ICT infrastructure.
- Thorough understanding of system security and ICT infrastructure management.
- Effective communicator capable of training and supporting end users.
- High level of reliability, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, including in remote or site-based settings.
