JOB DETAILS:

Academic Qualifications

School Certificate with a minimum of five (5) O-Level credits, including Mathematics, English, Science, and any other two subjects.

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Laboratory Technology, Applied Sciences, or a related science field.

Certification in laboratory safety and chemical handling will be an added advantage.

Technical Competencies

Ability to prepare and set up Chemistry, Physics, and Biology practical experiments.

Competence in handling laboratory reagents, chemicals, specimens, and apparatus.

Knowledge of laboratory equipment calibration, maintenance, and proper storage.

Experience in preparing solutions, reagents, and biological samples.

Ability to manage laboratory inventories and procurement records.

5 years’ experience in a similar role.

Safety and Compliance

Strong understanding of laboratory safety procedures, waste disposal, and risk assessment.

Ability to enforce safety regulations during practical sessions.

Familiarity with environmental and occupational health standards.

Member of a professional body if necessary

Professional Skills

Good organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with academic staff.

Computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.

Willingness to support research projects and student experiments.

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 12

Level of Education: bachelor degree
