We are looking for a Legal Advisor who brings both legal expertise and linguistic versatility to support our Zambia operations and cross-border engagements with Tanzania.

Role Overview

The Legal Advisor will provide strong legal support to ensure that Lake Group Zambia operates safely within the law, maintains compliance at all levels, and manages contracts, risks and regulatory matters with confidence. Swahili fluency is required to support communication and coordination with our Tanzanian teams and partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal interpretation and advice on company operations, contracts and regulatory matters
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, MOUs, policies and internal documents
• Ensure Lake Group Zambia complies with all relevant Zambian laws and industry regulations
• Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies and legal service providers
• Support dispute resolution, litigation management and risk mitigation strategies
• Conduct legal research and prepare advisory briefs for management
• Facilitate communication and translation between Swahili and English for regional operations
• Conduct internal legal awareness and compliance training sessions

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized institution
• Advocate of the High Court of Zambia is an added advantage
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in corporate, commercial or regulatory law
• Knowledge of Zambian labour, commercial and energy-sector regulations
• Fluency in Swahili and English (spoken and written)
• Strong analytical skills, confidentiality, and high professional integrity
