JOB DETAILS:
Background information about the job or company:
The Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) is seeking to recruit a Legal Counsel to provide legal advisory services and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Providing legal advisory services to Management, Council, and Committees
- Drafting, reviewing, and interpreting contracts and agreements
- Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and policies
- Managing litigation and legal proceedings
- Offering guidance on governance and regulatory matters
- Preparing legal opinions and reports
- Supervising and mentoring staff within the Legal Unit
Qualifications:
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with 5 credits or better, including English
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree
- Advocate of the High Court of Zambia with a valid Legal Practitioners Practising Certificate
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience
- Master of Laws (LLM) will be an added advantage
- Proven experience in contract negotiation, compliance, and litigation management
Experience needed:
A minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience, with at least 3 years at management or senior advisory level.
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 60
Level of Education: bachelor degree
