Responsibilities or duties
The key responsibilities for this role include but not limited to the following:
- Lead the delivery of new IT projects and services, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Analyze business requests and translate them into functional and technical requirements.
- Provide technical and managerial oversight across the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Coordinate release readiness and deployment activities, ensuring systems remain stable and updated with the latest capabilities.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party application providers to ensure effective service delivery.
- Monitor solution delivery performance metrics, KPIs, and SLAs, and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain application/product roadmaps aligned with business priorities.
- Coach, mentor, and motivate team members, ensuring performance obligations are met and staff development needs are addressed.
- Drive innovation by applying new methodologies, reviewing processes, and keeping abreast of evolving technologies.
- Act as the primary escalation point for IT delivery issues, ensuring stakeholder expectations are managed effectively.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Candidate Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate with 5 credit or better of which English and Mathematics are a must
- BSc Degree in IT/Software Engineering or related field
- Certification in Project Management (PMP, PMI‑ACP, CAPM, PRINCE2) and/or Business Analysis will be an added advantage
Experience needed
- Over 5 years’ IT experience across the full software development lifecycle (analysis, design, development, installation, support, and modification)
- Proven track record of leading and managing development initiatives using Agile, Waterfall, and other methodologies
- Solid background in QA/Testing, ensuring quality assurance throughout project delivery
- Two (2) years’ experience in a fast-paced office environment within a similar environment
