The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ) is a statutory body established under the Nurses and Midwives Act No. 10 of 2019. The Council is mandated to regulate nursing and midwifery education, training, and practice in Zambia to ensure safe, competent, and professional nursing and midwifery care to the public.
The Council invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and result-oriented individuals to fill the following vacant position:
6.0 Monitoring and Evaluation Officer – Salary Grade (NMCZ3)
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Director – Corporate Affairs, the incumbent will supervise and undertake the monitoring and evaluation of institutional programs in order to ascertain institutional performance, track progress, and facilitate interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertakes effectively the development, review and dissemination of monitoring and evaluation policy and guidelines in order to guide conduct of business and decision making.
- Undertakes effectively the monitoring and evaluation of Council programmes and nursing and midwifery institutions in order to ascertain institutional performance, track progress, and recommend remedial interventions.
- Undertakes effectively the development and reviewing of monitoring and evaluation tools in order to provide appropriate intervention.
- Undertakes effectively M&E data compilation and analysis for council programs in order to meet the requirements and needs.
Job Requirements
- Full Form V or Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Economics, Social Sciences, Statistics, Project Management, or related field.
- At least 8 years relevant experience, 2 of which should be at management level.
- Professional training/certification in Monitoring & Evaluation, Project Management (e.g. PRINCE2, Results-Based Management).
- Demonstrate ability to write technical and analytical reports.
- Able to communicate effectively in English.

- Analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Data Analysis software (SPSS, STATA, R, NVivo, Advanced Excel).
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Integrity, independence and objectivity.
- Undertakes effectively the development, review and dissemination of monitoring and evaluation policy and guidelines in order to guide conduct of business and decision making.
- Undertakes effectively the monitoring and evaluation of Council programmes and nursing and midwifery institutions in order to ascertain institutional performance, track progress, and recommend remedial interventions.
