Responsibilities or duties
The key responsibilities for this role include but not limited to the following:
- Establish and enforce information security governance structures, policies, and procedures aligned to MTN Zambia’s strategic objectives.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate IT and cybersecurity risks while ensuring compliance with all internal policies, regulatory requirements, and international standards.
- Lead vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits, ensuring timely remediation of findings.
- Direct implementation of Group Information Security governance strategies, identity management, and access controls across the OpCo.
- Supervise investigations into security incidents, manage escalations, and ensure rapid and effective incident response.
- Develop, maintain, and regularly update Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Monitor performance metrics including KPIs, SLAs, and security indicators, providing accurate and timely reports to leadership and Group stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of cybersecurity specialists to ensure high performance, collaboration, and continuous skills development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, regulators, and MTN Group Information Security teams to ensure compliance and effective support.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation across monitoring, prevention, backup, and recovery systems to maintain a strong information security posture.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Candidate Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate with 5 credit or better of which English and Mathematics are a must
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field strongly preferred
- Professional certifications: CISSP, CCSP, CISM, CRISC, GIAC (GSEC, GCIA, GCIH)
Experience needed
8 years progressive cybersecurity experience, with at least 4 years in senior management role within infosec domain, preferably in telecom
Proven experience with ISMS, audits, cyber operations, and architecture
