Background

AHDI is a registered Zambian Organization, empowering children with cerebral palsy and others with allied conditions through healthcare, inclusive education and community support. AHDI is implementing a project in Kafue Rural called “Introducing sustainable farming to promote climate resilience among small holder farmers”. The project is supported by International Climate Initiative (IKI).

Contract Title: Equipping of Two Existing Mini-Commercial Boreholes with Solar Powered System and Installation of Drip Irrigation System at Nakanga Primary School and Chilambila Primary School in Kafue District

Type of Bidding: Open Bidding

Scope of Works:

1. Borehole pumping test: refer to the bill of quantity

2. Installation of solar submersible pumps and solar structure: refer to technical specifications

3. Steel tank stand with a base of and erecting of a 10,000-liter Poly-Tank

4. Installation of Drip irrigation system on a 100m x 50m field

5. Game wire fence (105.5m x 56.0m enclosed)

Personnel Requirements:

1. Site Engineer: (Diploma or Better in Agriculture or Water Engineering) Minimum of three (3) Years’ experience in works of an equivalent nature and volume (CV should be submitted together with the bill of quantity).

2.Tradesmen: (Electrician Trades certificate and Plumber Trades Certificate) Minimum of three (3) Years’ experience in works of an equivalent nature and volume (CV should be submitted together with the attached bill of quantity).

Bidder Experience Required

·General experience under contracts in the role of contractor, subcontractor, or management contractor for at least the past 3-years (should be submitted together with the attached bill of quantity).

Similar works: Participation in at least 2 contracts of similar complexity and value within the last 3 years Minimum experience in equipping solar powered boreholes, installing drip irrigation systems (minimum 2-Ha of land), and wire fencing.
