JOB DETAILS:
OPPORTUNITY: Business Developer for Stellenbosch Business School Executive Development based in Zambia.
The University of Stellenbosch Business School Executive Development (Pty) Ltd, is a private company offering leadership and management development (short course) programmes across Africa for both corporates and individuals. An opportunity exists for a Business Developer based in Lusaka (Zambia). This is an independent contractor part-time remote appointment. The successful candidate will work remotely in the appointed country. The appointee will be part of an existing dynamic team who deliver high-quality service to clients across Africa, the company, and society. The position requires access to uninterrupted internet.

Job purpose:
Reporting to the Channel Director, Africa, the main purpose of the Business Developer is to grow the revenue in the respective country from individuals, private companies and the public sector, with the main focus on acquiring new clients.

Duties:
The Business Developer will be fully accountable for the Country Portfolio Revenue and will be measured on KPI’s such as revenue, client retention, and satisfaction, cross-selling, up-selling, and new client acquisition.
Key results areas, in addition to Portfolio Revenue will involve:
•Operational Results: Implementation of the country sales activities).
•Management Results: Sales revenue and expense budget management, sales and activity plans, and status and progress reporting.
•Client Experience: Nurture the relationship with new and existing clients as measured by the country net promoter score (NPS).
•Participant management Results: Communicate and manage the relationship with participants, monitors and records class attendance and submission of assignments, and projects.

Qualifications and skills required:
•Relevant (business-related) qualification – postgraduate degree advantageous.
•Knowledge and experience managing key account clients for the respective country market segments, as well as developing and implementing a targeted and focused sales strategy for identified markets.
•At least seven years experience as a salesperson in a complex sales environment (e.g., consulting), preferable in the learning and development and/or human capital industry.
•Experienced in engaging and working with senior management and executive-level clients.
•A good understanding of adult learning and development, and the executive education industry and products.
•Instructional design skills will be advantageous.
•Sales and marketing knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
•Key account management for identified customers, analysing client-related information, and developing strategies to preserve the customer-company relationship.
•Sales budgeting and forecasting skills.
•Working knowledge of customer relations management (CRM).
•Well-developed MS Office skills.
•Ability to communicate with individuals on all levels with excellent verbal and writing abilities.
•Excellent time management by working on multiple tasks, shift priorities as necessary and organize tasks and materials to meet pressing deadlines.

•Accepting, setting, and tackling demanding and challenging realistic goals and targets to continually improve performance. Showing drive, and stamina, sustaining long work hours when required.
•Thinking entrepreneurially and commercially, keeping up to date with competitor information and market trends, identifying business opportunities and demonstrating financial awareness. Able to understand the key business issues that affect profitability and growth.
