Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Head of Communications to lead, inspire, and manage a dynamic communications team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in corporate communications, public relations, and stakeholder engagement, coupled with proven leadership skills to drive a high-performing team. This role is pivotal in shaping the organization’s voice, strengthening its reputation, and ensuring consistent, impactful messaging across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of communications professionals, fostering creativity, collaboration, and accountability.
- Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and professional development pathways for the team.
Strategic Communication
- Develop and oversee comprehensive communication strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Ensure consistency of messaging across internal and external channels.
Public Relations & Media Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and industry stakeholders.
- Oversee press releases, media campaigns, and crisis communication strategies.
Internal Communications
- Drive initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and organizational culture.
- Partner with leadership to cascade key messages effectively throughout the organization.
Content & Brand Management
- Oversee the creation of high-quality content for speeches, reports, newsletters, and digital platforms.
- Safeguard brand voice and tone across all communication materials.
Digital & Social Media Strategy
- Lead the organization’s digital presence, ensuring innovative and engaging campaigns.
- Monitor analytics and adjust strategies to maximize reach and impact.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 12+ years of progressive experience in communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing and inspiring teams to achieve excellence.
- Expertise in media relations, crisis management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills tailored for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools, analytics, and emerging media trends.
