Our client, an energy and infrastructure development company operating in Zambia is seeking is seeking a dynamic and experienced Hydrological Engineer to lead hydrological assessments, flood risk modelling, and water-resource planning for power generation and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will support sustainable water management aligned with national environmental regulations and energy-sector standards.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct hydrological and hydraulic studies for project development and compliance.

Perform rainfall–runoff modelling, watershed evaluations, and flood‑risk analysis using advanced modelling platforms (HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS, SWMM).

Analyse groundwater and surface water datasets to assess availability and sustainability.

Design stormwater management and drainage systems.

Prepare analytical reports for regulatory authorities, including WARMA.

Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and environmental specialists on water‑resource issues.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, or Civil Engineering (Hydrology).

8–10 years’ experience in hydrological assessments, preferably within power or infrastructure sectors.

Strong understanding of Zambian water regulations and environmental approval processes.

Proficiency in hydrological modelling tools.
