Position Overview

A reputable lime processing company is seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all mechanical equipment and systems within the plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Ensure maximum availability and reliability of plant machinery and equipment.
  • Monitor the performance of crushers, kilns, conveyors, bagging plants, hydrators, compressors, and other mechanical systems.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Lead and supervise maintenance personnel and contractors.
  • Identify opportunities for improving plant efficiency, reducing downtime, and minimizing maintenance costs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and company standards.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, budgets, and spare parts requirements.
  • Participate in plant projects, equipment installations, and commissioning activities.
  • Investigate equipment failures and implement corrective actions.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Registered member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia.
  • Registered with the Engineering Registration Board.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing, mining, cement, lime processing, or heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance systems and industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in maintenance planning and management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literacy and ability to prepare technical reports.
