Job Description
Sheladia Associates, Inc. is soliciting interest from a professional Transport Economist to join an upcoming U.S. Government funded project addressing key constraints around agriculture and agro-processing in Southern Africa. Part of this project includes a component around improving roads to decrease transportation costs along select agricultural corridors. The expected scope of work will include feasibility and detailed design. This activity seeks to improve the access, quality, and climate resilience of prioritized roads within prioritized agricultural corridors. This project aims to ensure road durability, connect more farmers to markets, and increase climate resilience in the road sector.

Qualifications
• Post graduate degree in Transport Economics or other relevant discipline.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience on infrastructure investment projects funded by MCC or similar international organizations.
• Responsibility for the economic appraisal of a minimum of three inter-urban road upgrading projects in Southern Africa.
• Experience in leading the preparation of road transport cost-benefit analysis models using both RED and HDM-4 models.
• Fluent in English.
