Job Purpose
The Welder will be responsible of interpreting blueprints, preparing materials, and performing high-quality welds to meet project requirements. Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
- Set up and operate welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and arc welders.
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces.
- Perform welding operations in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead) as needed.
- Inspect completed welds for accuracy and quality, ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools, performing routine maintenance as required.
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- Craft Certificate in Welding
- Minimum of 2+ years of welding experience in a similar role.
- Good operating knowledge of welding machines such as spot, butt and seam resistance or gas and arc welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts
- Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various positions and environments.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to welding.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
