Job Purpose:
To drive sales growth, market penetration, and profitability of poultry feed products by developing strong relationships with commercial poultry farmers, distributors, and key industry stakeholders, while ensuring technical support and superior customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Revenue Growth
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for poultry feed.
- Grow volume and value sales across layers, broilers, breeders, and parent stock.
- Develop and execute sales plans focused on large and medium-scale commercial farmers.
- Expand market share in assigned territories.
- Key Account Management
- Build long-term relationships with commercial poultry farms, integrators, and contract growers.
- Negotiate pricing, credit terms, and supply agreements within company policy.
- Ensure customer retention through consistent engagement and performance reviews.
- Technical and Advisory Support
- Provide basic technical guidance on feed usage, feed conversion ratios (FCR), bird performance, and nutrition programs.
- Work closely with nutritionists and technical teams to address customer concerns.
- Conduct farm visits to monitor performance and recommend corrective actions
- Channel and Distribution Management
- Provide basic technical guidance on feed usage, feed conversion ratios (FCR), bird performance, and nutrition programs.
- Work closely with nutritionists and technical teams to address customer concerns.
- Conduct farm visits to monitor performance and recommend corrective actions.
- Market Development
- Identify new business opportunities and large farm conversions.
- Support product launches and trials with commercial farms.
- Participate in poultry exhibitions, field days, and industry forums.
- Reporting and Compliance
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence updates.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, credit control procedures, and ethical standards.
- Coordinate with finance on collections and debtor management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree or Diploma in Animal Science, Agriculture, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in poultry feed sales, preferably with exposure to commercial poultry operations.
- Strong understanding of poultry nutrition, feed programs, and commercial farm economics.
- Proven track record in managing key accounts and achieving sales targets.
