Job brief

We are seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Senior Pre-Sales Engineer to join our team. This critical role is the technical backbone of our sales process, responsible for designing, validating, and presenting enterprise-level IT infrastructure solutions that directly address our customers' most complex business challenges.

You will serve as the trusted technical advisor to our sales team and customers, ensuring that every solution we propose is technically sound, commercially viable, and aligned with market-leading technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solution Design & Strategy: Lead the technical design and architecture of complex IT infrastructure solutions, specializing in both traditional data center infrastructure and modern Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) platforms.
  • Customer Engagement: Work collaboratively with the sales team to attend customer meetings, conduct technical deep-dives, and accurately capture customer requirements and pain points.
  • Technical Authority: Act as the primary technical authority in customer discussions, confidently presenting and defending proposed designs to IT leadership and technical teams.
  • Vendor Management & Advocacy: Maintain and leverage strong working relationships with key technology vendors (e.g., Nutanix, VMware, Cisco, Dell, HPE, etc.) to stay current on roadmaps and facilitate solution validation.
  • Networking Expertise: Apply deep working knowledge of enterprise networking principles, architecture, and technology to ensure seamless integration and performance of designed solutions.
  • Tender & Proposal Management: Own the technical and commercial response for tender submissions, including having working knowledge of the eGP (e-Government Procurement) process to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Costing & Scoping: Develop detailed Bill of Materials (BOMs), effort estimates, and technical scope documents to support accurate pricing and proposal generation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in a Pre-Sales, Solution Architecture, or Consulting role, specifically focused on IT infrastructure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
  • Proven track record of successfully designing and selling complex, large-scale enterprise infrastructure solutions.
  • Expert knowledge in data center technologies, including servers, storage (SAN/NAS), virtualization, and backup/DR.
  • Strong Expertise in Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) platforms.
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols, architectures, and security in a data center context.
  • Demonstrable experience working effectively with sales teams in a customer-facing capacity.
  • Must possess an existing network of strong relationships within the technology vendor ecosystem.
  • Familiarity and working knowledge of eGP (e-Government Procurement) or similar public sector tendering processes is highly desirable.
