Background

The Rural Electrification Authority (REA) is a statutory body established under REA Act No. 5 of 2023. Its mandate is to increase access to electricity in rural areas of Zambia, thereby enhancing productivity, stimulating economic growth, and improving the quality of life for the rural population. REA is expanding and seeking talented individuals for the following roles:

Responsibilities

• Undertakes effectively the coordination of the implementation of the procurement plan in order to guide the procurement process and facilitate decision making.
• Undertakes timely the preparation of bidding documents in order to ensure transparency in the tendering process and compliance with laid down procedures.
• Undertakes effectively execution of supply contracts in order to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Undertakes timely procurement of goods and services in order to meet Authority's requirements.
• Undertakes effectively the preparation of procurement reports in order to comply with statutory requirements.
• Undertakes effectively the maintenance of procurement database in order to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of information.
• Undertakes effectively the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems in order to ensure compliance to set standards.
• Undertakes effectively the preparation and reviewing of the procurement risk register in order to ensure effective management of risk.

Qualifications Required

• Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply, Full Form V/Grade 12 Certificate, Validation Certificate from Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA)

• Undertakes effectively the coordination of the implementation of the procurement plan in order to guide the procurement process and facilitate decision making.
• Undertakes timely the preparation of bidding documents in order to ensure transparency in the tendering process and compliance with laid down procedures.
