JOB DETAILS:

An HLP machine is almost certainly a Horizontal Form-Fill-Seal machine. It's a type of packaging machine that lays the package on its side (horizontally) and is often used for larger items or multi-packs (e.g., cookies, crackers, hardware items, frozen food).

Key Responsibilities:

• Changeover: Setting up the HLP machine for different products, which involves adjusting the chain lugs, film width, sealing jaws, and product feed guides.
• Operation: Monitoring the machine's operation, ensuring product is fed correctly from the conveyor and that packages are formed, filled, and sealed properly.
• Quality Assurance: Checking that packages are correctly aligned, sealed on all sides, and have the correct product count inside. Verifying date and batch codes are legible and accurate.
• Troubleshooting: Quickly addressing common issues like film tears, misaligned products causing jams, or inconsistent sealing temperatures.
• Efficiency Management: Optimizing machine speed to meet production targets while maintaining quality. Monitoring material usage to minimize waste.
• Documentation: Recording production outputs, downtime reasons, and quality data for each batch.
• Cleaning: Disassembling and cleaning key parts of the machine at the end of a production run to prevent cross-contamination and ensure smooth operation.
