Job Summary
The Boiler Technician is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of industrial boiler systems and associated utility equipment. The role ensures uninterrupted steam generation to support manufacturing operations while maintaining compliance with Zambian safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of boiler operations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and industrial safety practices within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturing environment.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain industrial boiler systems to ensure a safe, reliable, and continuous steam supply for manufacturing operations.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment faults, and carry out repairs on boilers and associated utility systems to minimize downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections, monitor boiler performance, and maintain accurate operational and maintenance records to ensure optimal equipment efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with Zambian occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations by following safe work procedures and maintaining high housekeeping standards.
- Collaborate with the Engineering and Production teams during routine operations, plant shutdowns, and maintenance activities to support uninterrupted production.
