About the Role

We’re looking for an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Officer to help grow our client base and expand new revenue opportunities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, spotting opportunities, and turning ideas into commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners
  • Develop and deliver sales strategies to meet growth targets
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and contracts
  • Work closely with marketing and internal teams to drive growth
  • Track performance and report on sales activity

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in business, marketing, sales, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in sales or business development; experience in the Construction and civil works fields preferred.
  • Proven ability to source and close contracts.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy, including email, Teams, Slack, Word, Excel, and basic CRM use
  • Professional, formal appearance and ability to meet clients in person.
  • Must be based in Zambia and be able to travel across the country for leads.

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Commercially minded with a results-focused approach
  • Confident in building relationships at all levels
  • Self-motivated, organised, and proactive
