Responsibilities or duties

The Distribution and Logistics Specialist will coordinate in-country distribution activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of commodities, monitor On-Time In-Full (OTIF) performance, track distribution volumes and geographic coverage against approved distribution plans and targets, and support cold chain monitoring and compliance with required storage and transportation temperature conditions.

The role will maintain Distribution Tracking Tools (DTT), support the implementation and use of ePOD systems, monitor system uptime and data accuracy, troubleshoot system and operational issues, and support the contracting and management of logistics service providers in line with organizational requirements.

The position will also conduct distribution and logistics optimization analyses, provide data-driven recommendations to optimize distribution routes and resources, monitor distribution exceptions, support logistics planning, and contribute to capacity building and knowledge transfer for ZAMMSA and relevant logistics personnel.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in distribution and logistics.
  • Experience with DTT/ePOD systems and OTIF monitoring.
  • Knowledge of 3PL management and contracting.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Masters in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
  • Certification in logistics or distribution management.
  • Experience with ZAMMSA operations.
  • Experience with cold chain distribution.
  • Experience with route optimization software.
