POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Enumerator

Reports to: Head of Research and Impact

Department: Research and Social Performance (R&SP)

Location: Various AMZ’s operational areas

Project and job description

Agora Microfinance Zambia Limited aims to conduct client surveys to gain deeper insights into clients’ living conditions and overall well-being. The study targets a total of 3,000 clients across all ten provinces where the institution operates nationwide.

To support this exercise, we are seeking 20 reliable and self-motivated enumerators to ensure the effective and timely completion of the data collection process. Branch staff will provide on-the-ground support to facilitate the surveys

Period: June - August 2026 full time basis

Salary: Fixed salary (ZMW 200 daily)

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Head of Research and Impact

Supervises: None

Liaison: All AMZ members of staff

Summary Key Responsibilities

1.Conduct interviews with AMZ clients to collect data. How?

  • Following internal procedures in collecting and recording data (a 3 day-session training will be held in Lusaka: 27th – 29th April 2026)
  • Verifying data for accuracy and completeness
  • Ensuring confidentiality and security of data
  • Conducting follow-up interviews as necessary to obtain missing or incomplete data
  • Utilizing electronic devices to record data
  • Reporting any issues or concerns to the R&SP department
  • Working in an assigned geographical area, driving or being accompanied by branch staff to designated locations
  • Being available to work full time in the identified period

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or final-year student enrolled) in Microfinance, Banking and Finance, Statistics, Economics, and any other related field
  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in data collection process (i.e., conducting interviews, focus group discussions, surveys)
  • Well-organized, and able to work independently and follow internal procedures
  • Attentive to details and accuracy in collecting data
  • Applicants must be able to communicate fluently in at least one local Zambian language, preferably Nyanja or Bemba.
  • Basic computer savvy, able to use electronic devices (a tablet) for data collection
  • Knowledge of or preferably experience in the microfinance sector is an asset
  • Possession of a valid motorbike riding license will be considered an added advantage.
