- Job Title: Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP) Field Technician
- Country: Zambia
- Job Location: Mpika (with frequent travel to Lavushimanda)
- Contract Type: Fixed-term (12 months, renewable)

Key Responsibilities
- Support Community Groups (CFMGs & Others)
- Train on sustainable harvesting, processing, and financial literacy.
- Organize workshops, exchange visits, and business plan development.
- Collaborate with Forestry Department, Ministry of SMEs, We Forest, FZS, and WFP.
- Assist in grant proposal submissions (e.g., Community Development Fund).
- Strengthen NTFP Marketing
- Develop packaging, branding, and sales strategies.
- Facilitate participation in trade fairs, village markets, and promotional events.
- Engage District Councils and other stakeholders to expand market access.
- Project Development & Coordination
- Assist in drafting AVSF cooperation project proposals.
- Assess potential for scaling AVSF’s work in Zambia with producer organizations.
Candidate Profile
- Education: Technical training in rural development, value chains, or related fields.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years in supporting producer organizations, rural project management, and training.
- Experience in financial literacy, business planning, and NTFP value chains preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong training, drafting, and interpersonal skills.
- Diplomatic, adaptable, and autonomous.
- Languages:
- Fluent in Bemba & English (written & spoken).
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
