JOB DETAILS:

Summary: Operates specialized underground mining machinery (LHD) to load, haul, and dump ore and waste rock in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate LHDs (e.g., Scoop trams) to move material from the face to ore passes or designated dumping locations.
• Perform pre-start checks and basic maintenance on the equipment (greasing, checking fluids, inspecting tires/brakes).
• Assist in scaling loose rock from the roof and walls of mine openings.
• Coordinate with other operators and ground personnel to ensure a smooth and safe workflow.
• Recognize and report any equipment faults, geological hazards, or unsafe conditions.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as an LHD Operator in an underground mining environment.
• Valid driver's license; mine-specific certification is a plus.
• Strong spatial awareness and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work in a confined, dark, and noisy environment.
