JOB DETAILS:

Job Purpose Summary:

The House Uncle is responsible for the Biblical caregiving and development of the children in his care. This job is comprehensive and designed to rehabilitate, cultivate and disciple the children as they prepare to be reintegrated with family. Primary objective is to mentor the young men and share the life changing message of Jesus Christ.

Key Responsibilities:

*Teach and model the ways of Christ and the gospel.
*Constant supervision of residents in the home.
*Ensure that the home is clean, well-organized, and maintains an atmosphere conducive to family life.
*Organize and keep a daily time table for the residents that includes chores, meal times, school, recreation, devotions, study time, bath, washing and bed time.
*Detailed record keeping of behavior incidents, progress and areas that need improvement.
*Manage behavior issues swiftly and appropriately according to the circumstance and individual. Consistent discipline and correction.
*Communicate all behavior issues to Supervisor.
*Engage relationally whenever possible equipping them with life skills like; cooking, personal hygiene, work ethic, learning, study, games, cultivating gardens, small business etc.
*Help AHZ team prepare a plan with goals and practical steps to achieve for each resident in order to be successfully reintegrated at home.
*Manage basic household funds.
*Take boys to designated church.
