As a Logistics Specialist, you will play a crucial role in coordinating shipment planning and execution. Your responsibilities will include assisting with shipment staging, booking and scheduling transport, and monitoring deliveries to guarantee timely arrival. You will work closely with transporters, clearing agents, warehouse teams, and suppliers to maintain smooth operations and accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Operations: Support shipment staging, transport booking, loading and dispatch activities, and verify shipment quantities and documentation.

Import & Export Support: Assist in preparing and processing import/export documentation, follow up on customs clearance and permits, and liaise with regulatory authorities and clearing agents.

Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate logistics records, ensure completeness of transport documents, assist with proof of delivery verification, and support adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.

Inventory & Warehouse Coordination: Aid in inventory reconciliation, track stock movements, coordinate with warehouse personnel, assist with cycle counts, and report discrepancies to the Logistics Coordinator.

Qualifications and Skills

Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

At least one year of internship experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, or supply chain operations.

Knowledge of import/export procedures is advantageous.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Experience with ERP systems, preferably PASTEL Sage Evolution, is a plus.

Membership with the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) is required.

Strong organizational and planning abilities with keen attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.

Team-oriented with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
