Lusaka West Medical Center is a soon to open private health facility in Lusaka looking to recruit a dynamic individual to fill the position of Registered Nurse.
Job Purpose
We are seeking a committed and highly motivated Registered Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality primary healthcare, support treatment of common ailments, basic emergency care and occupational health management within the workplace environment.
Reporting Line
The Registered Nurse will report to the Administrator of the Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Providing basic emergency care.
- Conducting medical assessments, screenings, and health surveillance programs.
- Identifying and triaging occupational illnesses and injuries appropriately.
- Administering treatment and medication as guided by the Medical Doctors.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient and clinic records.
- Monitoring and controlling clinic stock levels, medical supplies, and equipment.
- Promoting workplace health and wellness through sensitization programs.
- Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
- Assisting in the management of workplace accidents and medical emergencies.
- Collaborating with emergency response teams and relevant stakeholders.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and infection prevention within the clinic.
- Preparing and submitting clinic reports and statistics as required.
- Supporting employees with health education and preventive healthcare initiatives.
- Ability to work in demanding environments, including shifts where required and necessary.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Occupational Health qualification will be an added advantage.
- Must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia.
- Posses a valid practicing license.
- Good clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ILS/ALS certification will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and within a team environment.
Job Experience
Previous clinical experience in a health setting will be an added advantage.
