Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is currently seeking a skilled SRT Technician to join their team based in Kitwe, Copperbelt, Zambia. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with extensive experience in underground mining and mechanical servicing who are looking to advance their careers in a dynamic and supportive environment.
As an SRT Technician at Sandvik, you will be part of a specialized team focused on servicing rock tools and performing mechanical failure analysis within underground mining operations. The position is based at NFCA, Chambeshi, with a work schedule of four days on followed by four days off, allowing for a balanced work-life routine.
Qualifications or requirements
Candidates applying for this role must meet the following essential criteria:
- Grade 12 Certificate – foundational educational qualification required
- Craft Certificate or Advanced Technician Certificate – demonstrating technical proficiency
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in relevant roles, particularly in underground mining environments
- Valid manual driver’s license to support mobility within mining sites
- Basic computer skills to manage technical documentation and reporting
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant will possess hands-on experience in underground mining operations, rock tools servicing, and mechanical failure analysis. Familiarity with heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is highly advantageous. This role requires a proactive technician who can work effectively within a team and adapt to the challenging mining environment.
