Background

CHINA COPPER MINES LIMITED (CCM) was established in 2010 as a large-scale mining group established by private owning groups in the Republic of Zambia, known as the “country of copper mines”. The company’s business scope covers resource exploration, mining, hydrometallurgy, sulfuric acid chemical industry, trading and mining investment. In recent years, CCM had sprung up in the mining industry in Zambia with outstanding performance; in particular, the “low-grade, complex and difficult ore-treating process” is a leading technology with great technical and economic advantages. China Copper Mines Limited is located in Fitula Mimbula, Chingola town, Copperbelt Province

Responsibilities

Controlling access to mine site.

Conducting routine patrols and inspections.

Monitoring and reporting suspicious activities or security breaches.

Responding promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents.

Maintaining occurrence books and preparing incident reports.

Conduct daily pre-operational inspections of cranes, lifting gear, and safety devices before use.

Ensure all lifting activities are carried out in accordance with approved lifting plans, procedures, and load charts.

Communicate clearly with riggers, signalers, and supervisors to ensure safe and accurate lifting operations.

Monitor crane stability, ground conditions, and weather factors during lifting operations.

Report equipment defects, mechanical issues, or unsafe conditions immediately to the Person in Charge (PIC).

Maintain accurate records of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance activities.

Comply strictly with CCM safety rules, including use of PPE, lifting permits, and hazard reporting.

Maintain good housekeeping standards in crane operating areas.

Perform any other duties assigned by the PIC.

Qualifications

Valid Crane Operator Competence Certificate.

Minimum 1 year of experience operating cranes in a mining, industrial, or construction environment.

Knowledge of crane load charts, lifting techniques, and safety regulations.

Ability to work closely with rigging teams and follow hand and radio signals accurately.

Physically fit and able to work at heights and in challenging site conditions.

Grade 12 certificate.

Curriculum Vitae.

Valid silicosis certificate.
