JOB DETAILS:
Summary: Similar to a Section Boss but with broader responsibility for the entire mine operation during a specific shift (e.g., day, night). Acts as the senior on-site authority for the shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and direction for all operational activities during the shift.
- Ensure the safe execution of all mining plans.
- Coordinate between different sections (production, maintenance, services).
- Monitor and report on shift production and performance metrics.
- Respond to and manage emergencies or incidents on shift.
- Enforce safety and environmental policies without exception.
- Authorize and manage blasting activities if certified.
Qualifications:
- Extensive mining experience with proven supervisory experience.
- Formal qualifications in Mine Supervision or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of all mining operations and legislation.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills under pressure.

Level of Education: bachelor degree
