Background

CHINA COPPER MINES LIMITED (CCM) was established in 2010 as a large-scale mining group established by private owning groups in the Republic of Zambia, known as the “country of copper mines”. The company’s business scope covers resource exploration, mining, hydrometallurgy, sulfuric acid chemical industry, trading and mining investment. Responsibilities

• Collect, organize, and analyze data related to production, safety, equipment performance.
• Use statistical models to support decision-making in mine planning, resource estimation, and operational efficiency.
• Conduct variance analysis on production targets versus actuals to identify areas of improvement.
• Support maintenance teams with resource acquisition.
• Use statistical tools and software (e.g., Python, Excel, SPSS, and SAS) to process large datasets.
• Monitor trends in equipment downtime, fuel consumption, and other KPIs to optimize operations.
• Assist in designing and analyzing quality control and assurance programs.
• Prepare regular reports and dashboards for management and technical teams.
• Evaluate risks and support safety analysis by identifying patterns in incident or near-miss data.
• Collaborate with electricians, welders, boilermakers, mechanical fitter and Person-In-Charge to ensure data-driven decision-making.
• Adhere to all site safety standards, including proper use of PPE and hazard reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in any field.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software and data visualization tools.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex datasets.
• Understanding of mining processes and terminology is a strong advantage.
• Attention to detail and ability to present findings in a clear and actionable manner.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary diverse environment.
