POSITION DETAILS
Job Title: Driver & Personal Support Assistant
Department: Executive Office
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Location: Lusaka (Frequent travel within and outside Lusaka as required)
JOB PURPOSE
The Driver & Personal Support Assistant is responsible for providing safe, reliable, confidential, and professional transportation services to the Chief Executive Officer and, where authorized, members of the CEO's family.
The position also provides both official business support and authorized personal support through the timely execution of errands, travel coordination, document delivery, procurement support, vehicle care, and other assigned responsibilities.
This is a position of trust requiring the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, discretion, reliability, and customer service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Executive Transportation
Safely transport the Chief Executive Officer to meetings, project sites, showrooms, official engagements, airports, and other authorized destinations.
Ensure punctual arrival for all scheduled appointments.
Plan the safest and most efficient travel routes.
Monitor traffic conditions and recommend alternative routes where necessary.
Maintain a professional appearance and courteous manner at all times.
2. Personal Support
Drive the CEO or authorized family members to personal appointments when instructed.
Assist with authorized personal errands, including collections, deliveries, purchases, and other assignments.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all personal matters.
Exercise professionalism and discretion at all times.
3. Business Support
Deliver confidential documents and correspondence.
Collect quotations, samples, permits, and business materials.
Conduct banking and statutory errands as assigned.
Support operational logistics when required.
Assist with transporting company property and materials.
4. Vehicle Management
Conduct daily vehicle inspections before use.
Maintain cleanliness inside and outside the vehicle.
Monitor fuel levels and arrange timely refueling.
Maintain the Vehicle Log Book and Fuel Log Book accurately.
Report defects, accidents, damage, or maintenance requirements immediately.
Ensure vehicle licenses, insurance, and roadworthiness remain valid.
5. Safety & Security
Drive responsibly and in full compliance with the Road Traffic Act and all applicable regulations.
Prioritize the safety of passengers, pedestrians, and company property.
Observe defensive driving practices.
Ensure passengers use seat belts.
Safeguard confidential documents and valuables entrusted to the vehicle.
6. Occupational Health & Safety
Follow Company Occupational Health & Safety policies.
Maintain safe working practices while travelling to offices, customer premises, project sites, and private residences.
Report accidents, incidents, hazards, or near misses immediately.
7. General Responsibilities
Maintain confidentiality regarding Company operations and the CEO's personal affairs.
Demonstrate honesty, integrity, maturity, and sound judgement.
Be available for occasional early morning, evening, weekend, or public holiday assignments where operationally required.
Perform any other lawful duties reasonably assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
Performance will be measured against:
- Safe driving record.
- Punctuality.
- Vehicle cleanliness and maintenance.
- Accuracy of vehicle and fuel records.
- Professional conduct.
- Confidentiality.
- Timely completion of official and personal assignments.
- Reliability and responsiveness.
- Compliance with Company policies and traffic regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Grade 12 School Certificate.
Valid Class C or higher Driver's Licence.
Defensive Driving Certificate will be an added advantage.
First Aid Training will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum 5 years' professional driving experience, preferably supporting senior executives, directors, business owners, or corporate management.
Experience driving both within Lusaka and long-distance routes is essential.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
The successful candidate must demonstrate competence in:

- Route planning and navigation.
- Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance.
