HEAD OF DEPARTMENT.

Greetings all, we are seeking to bring onboard a reliable Head of Department to join our team to be based in Lusaka. The senior leader will be responsible for strategic direction, operational management, and performance of the department.

The ideal candidate should have the following skills and will have the following Responsibilities;

Responsibilities of the Role.

  • Develop and implement departmental strategy and annual plans aligned with company objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage department staff; recruit, set goals, conduct performance reviews, and drive professional development.
  • Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and cost management for the department.
  • Define and monitor KPIs; report performance and deliverables to senior leadership.
  • Ensure process efficiency, continuous improvement, and compliance with relevant laws, policies, and standards.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to support company initiatives and resolve inter-departmental issues.
  • Lead major projects, change initiatives, and risk management related to the department.
  • Represent the department in executive meetings and contribute to organizational strategy.

Key Requirements.

  • Ability to speak Chinese (Mandarin) is a must have.
  • Proven experience handling a term of at least 5 term members.
  • Background in Accounts and Finance is an added advantage.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in consumer electronics, FMCG, retail, or distribution is a plus.
  • Zambian nationality or candidates with legal authorization to work in Zambia are advised to apply.
