Chreso University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position of Full-Time Lecturer – School of Nursing to be based at its City Campus in Lusaka.

The Lecturer shall be responsible for teaching, research, curriculum development, student mentorship, assessment, and academic administration within the School of Nursing. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of quality teaching and learning, promote research and innovation, and support the University's mission of providing quality higher education.

Responsibilities or duties,

  • Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and clinical instruction in assigned courses.
  • Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and learning resources in accordance with University standards.
  • Prepare, administer, and mark continuous assessments, examinations, and other student evaluation activities.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, dissertations, and clinical practice.
  • Participate in curriculum development, review, and continuous improvement of academic programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Higher Education Authority (HEA), Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA), Health Professional Council of Zambia (HPCZ), and other relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct scholarly research and publish in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
  • Participate in consultancy, community engagement, and outreach programmes.
  • Provide academic guidance, counselling, and mentorship to students.
  • Participate in departmental, faculty, and university committees and meetings.
  • Contribute to quality assurance initiatives and accreditation processes.
  • Maintain accurate academic records and prepare reports as required.
  • Participate in academic planning, examination moderation, and graduation processes.
  • Promote innovation, professionalism, and ethical conduct in teaching and research.
  • Perform any other academic duties assigned by the Head of Department or Dean.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills),

  • Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or its equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognised institution.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing in one of the following specialisations: Maternal Child Health with Midwifery, Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Public Health Nursing, Paediatrics Nursing Or another closely related Nursing specialisation.
  • Valid practising licence and registration with the General Nursing Council of Zambia (GNCZ).
  • Demonstrated ability to teach at tertiary level.
  • Strong research and academic writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Membership of a relevant professional body.

Experience needed,

  • Minimum of three (3) years' post-qualification teaching and/or clinical experience.
  • Experience in curriculum development, assessment, and student supervision will be an added advantage.
