A. Job Purpose:
To drive council vehicles to facilitate the mobility of officers, materials, and equipment.
B. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive safely and regularly, staff on official Council business.
- Prepare timely accident reports to facilitate decision-making.
- Prepare reports and log books to enhance accountability.
- Complete timely log books to enhance accountability of journeys.
- Undertake basic vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Perform minor vehicle servicing and repairs, ensuring the vehicle is in good condition.
- Report to the Supervisor any issues as assigned.
C. Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Valid SADC driving license (Class C or above).
- Must be a Zambian citizen with a valid Green National Registration Card.
- Minimum of 5 years continuous driving experience.
- Flexible to work outside normal working hours.
- Able to write reports.
- Good communication skills, interpersonal skills, integrity, and objectivity.
- Ability to work in tough and challenging terrains.
- Must maintain high levels of confidentiality.
- Must have sound knowledge of road safety regulations.
- Basic mechanical skills are an added advantage.
