Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Agronomist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to farmers, focusing on floriculture. This role involves field visits, crop monitoring, soil analysis, pest and disease management, and recommending best practices for optimal crop yield and quality.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field assessments and provide expert advice on crop management practices for floriculture.
• Monitor crop health, identify pests and diseases, and recommend appropriate control measures.
• Advise on soil fertility management, irrigation techniques, and nutrient application.
• Collect and analyze soil, water, and plant tissue samples.
• Develop and implement crop management plans tailored to specific farm needs.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in floriculture and agricultural technologies.
• Train farmers on best practices and new techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of field activities, observations, and recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in agronomy, with a focus on floriculture.
• Proven knowledge of crop physiology, soil science, pest and disease management.
• Experience with soil and plant tissue analysis.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within Zambia.
