JOB DETAILS:

Summary: Works as part of a team to safely handle, prepare, and load explosives for blasting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely transport explosives from the magazine to the blast site.
• Assist in drilling blast holes and preparing the blast pattern.
• Load explosives (ANFO, Emulsions, etc.) and primers into blast holes according to the shotfirer's design.
• Connect and tie-in detonators and downlines for the blast.
• Secure the blast area and assist with pre-blast clearances.
• Handle and store explosives in compliance with all federal, state, and site-specific regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant blasting licenses/certifications (e.g., MSHA Part 48/46 training for blasting).
• Experience on a blasting crew in a mining or quarry environment.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Ability to follow complex instructions precisely.
