Overall Responsibility
The Business Analyst will work closely with MoH, ZAMMSA, Smart Zambia and end users to collect and analyse business and business intelligence (BI) requirements, evaluate requirements from technical and business perspectives, and translate user requirements into clear functional and technical specifications and user stories for the development team.
The role will also analyse existing business processes and workflows for eLMIS, WarehouseXpert and SmartCare, support solution design, prepare process maps and specification documents, support data analysis and reporting, coordinate stakeholder requirements-gathering sessions, support testing and user acceptance testing, and contribute to system deployment, user training, documentation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited tertiary institution in Business Analysis, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field.
- Skills in requirements analysis, data analysis and business process modelling.
- Three (3) years’ experience in business analysis or a related role, including requirements elicitation and documentation, business process analysis and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- High proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and other software tools.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- A postgraduate qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CBAP/CCBA, Agile/Scrum, ITIL or a data analytics certification.
- Five (5) years’ experience in business analysis, including exposure to health information or supply chain systems, e.g., eLMIS and SmartCare Pro.
- Experience preparing reports and dashboards and working with SQL or business intelligence tools.
- Prior experience with USG-funded projects preferred.
